Important info about your mCollect device

Please take note of the following important information regarding the use, care and safety of our mCollect mobile devices.

By loaning a device, you agree to the various terms and conditions of the device safety, usage and care as listed below.  All devices remain the property of MPAMOT.

Device Safety

Our mobile devices comply with Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) for general population . uncontrolled exposure limits (2.0 W/Kg) specified in COUNCIL RECCOMENDATION 1999/519/EC and has been tested in accordance with the measurement methods and procedures specified in EN50360, EN50566, EN62209-1/-2, EN62479.

  • Do not expose the device to physical impact or damage
  • Use only vendor approved batteries, chargers and cables – as supplied.
  • Prevent the multipurpose jack and battery terminals from coming into contact with foreign materials such as metal, liquids or dust.
  • If any part of the device, such as the glass or acrylic body is broken, smokes, or emits a burning odor, stop using the device immediately.
  • Do not turn on the device whne the battery compartment is exposed
  • Do not disasemble or reuse the battery
  • Do not allow animals or children to chew or suck the device
  • The device can be used in locations with an ambient temperature of 0C to 35C.  The device can be stored at an ambient temperature of -20C to 50C
  • Comply with all safety warnings and regulations regarding mobile device usage while operating a vehicle
Device Use

When going to site…

  • Ensure that the device is fully charged the night before your site visit.
  • Test both mobile and WiFi connectivity.
  • Ensure that you have the latest version of the mCollect loaded.
  • Ensure that you have updated your specific mCollect form for your site visit.  It’s always a good idea to run through the form and test before you head to site.
  • Don’t forget to upload your forms data periodically during your site visit.

General usage

  • Do not install any 3rd party application son the device unless instructed to do so by the Digital Solutions team.
  • You may not remove installed applications unless instructed to do so by the Digital Solutions team.
  • All activity on the device is monitored.  The devices may not be used for purposes other than access to the mCollect application.
  • Ensure that you return the device to the respective Digital Solutions team.  It is your responsibility to ensure that a device you have loaned is correctly checked back in to your respective MPAMOT office.
  • The device may not be used for personal reasons.  Usage of the device is intended for business us only.
Device Care

Remember, you are responsible for the safe-keeping and care of the mobile device in your possession.  Failure to properly care for the device or negligent handling of the device may result in action taken against you for the recovery of the device repair or replacement.

  • Do not leave the device unattended or unsecured.
  • Do not loan or borrow the device to any third-party.
  • Use the provided accessory equipment to charge the device.
  • Use the provided hand strap to secure the device to your person when in use.
  • Do not throw or drop the device intentionally.
  • If you need to leave the device in your vehicle, ensure that it is locked away in the boot of the vehicle.
  • If you need to clean the screen, use a soft cloth to wipe the screen.  Do not use water or any cleaning liquid to clean the screen.
  • All devices are cleaned and sanitized correctly before being handed over to you, please do not try to sanitize the device yourself.
  • Do not store the device in an environment with excessive heat above 40C.  The devices are built to work in high ambient temperature environments but prolonged exposure to excessive heat may cause the battery to overheat and damage the device.
